# Geospatial Analysis

**Geospatial analysis** is a method used to examine data through location, distance,
area and geographical relationships. It helps identify where events occur, how different
regions interact and how geographical conditions influence particular outcomes.
Spatial data can be evaluated through numerical methods, maps and statistical models.
This makes complex and high-volume datasets easier to understand by adding a location-
based perspective.

Geospatial analysis may use information from **Geographic Information Systems**,
GPS records, satellite imagery, aerial photographs and sensor data. These sources
enable the geographical positions of objects or events to be identified and connected
with other information. Data may be represented as points, lines or areas depending
on its characteristics. The reliability of the analysis depends on the accuracy,
timeliness and geographical detail of the available data.

This method helps identify regional differences, spatial patterns and changes over
time. Information such as population density, traffic movement, disease distribution
and the location of natural resources can be evaluated together on a map. Areas
in which a particular event is concentrated can be identified, and their relationship
with environmental or demographic factors can be examined. However, future predictions
require spatial data to be combined with appropriate statistical or predictive models.

**Geospatial analysis** is used in fields such as urban planning, natural resource
management, agriculture, logistics, healthcare and disaster management. Urban planning
applications may assess population growth, infrastructure needs, transport networks
and land use. Natural resource management may involve protecting water resources,
monitoring agricultural land and identifying changes in ecosystems. In logistics,
geospatial analysis can support route optimisation, traffic assessment, warehouse
location selection and delivery area planning.

In summary, geospatial analysis reveals relationships between data and geographical
locations. It supports a clearer understanding of regional differences, more efficient
resource use and evidence-based spatial decisions. It is particularly valuable when
large areas or numerous locations must be evaluated together. When supported by
accurate data and suitable models, it can strengthen planning, risk assessment and
decision-making processes.
