For mobile users in particular, connection quality, device power and page weight become even more important. For this reason, desktop and mobile performance should be analysed separately.
It is not accurate to define a single ideal loading time that applies to every website. The general goal is for users to reach the main content as quickly as possible and interact with the page without noticeable delay. Some pages may achieve fast results because their structure is simple, while product listing pages, video pages, interactive modules or visually heavy pages may require more detailed optimisation. What matters is monitoring performance with real user data and prioritising improvements accordingly.
Page speed optimisation may include compressing images, using next-generation image formats, removing unnecessary code, minifying CSS and JavaScript files, prioritising critical resources, using browser caching, integrating a CDN and improving server response time. Third-party tags should also be reviewed regularly, and unnecessary scripts that harm user experience should be removed. These improvements can make the page lighter, faster and more stable.
Tools such as Google PageSpeed Insights, Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools, GTmetrix, WebPageTest and similar platforms can be used to measure page speed. These tools may provide both lab data and, in some cases, data based on real user experience. However, evaluation should not focus only on scores. It is more important to analyse which issues actually affect user experience and conversion performance. Properly managed page speed optimisation is an important technical improvement area that strengthens SEO performance, user satisfaction and conversion rates.
